Over the weekend of April 5th & 6th, Grand River Rocks in Kitchener hosted the 2014 OCF Provincial Difficulty Championships. 84 climbers battled the two Qualifying routes on the Saturday, with many advancing to Semi-finals Sunday morning, and the top climbers going on to Finals Sunday afternoon. It was a very well-run comp, thanks to the countless volunteers and a great hosting job by Grand River Rocks. As this was the finale of the 2013-14 OCF Series, we also presented awards to our Series winners, including medals to the top 3 climbers over the season series in each category, and the Ontario Cup to each Series Champion. Each medal winner also received a MEC gift card, and each Series Champion received a Champion Pass, granting them free climbing for all of June-August at each of the following gyms (excluding membership credit at their home gym):

- Boulderz West, Etobicoke (opening July 1)
- Climber’s Rock, Burlington
- Coyote Rock Gym, Ottawa

That ends the OCF Series, and for those climbers in D category, it’s the end of the competitive season in Canada. The older Youth Categories, as well as the Open adult category, are gearing up for Eastern Regionals, to be held April 19th & 20th at True North Climbing. All competitors must have CEC National Athlete Memberships in order to compete at Regionals, but there are no other eligibility requirements. - a judge (Judging Clinic will be held Friday April 18th at 7pm)
- a belayer (Belaying at a Competition Clinic will be held Friday April 11th at 7pm). The main need is for qualified lead belayers.

Volunteers will be fed and appreciated, and there will be a prize raffle for volunteers only. Prizes include 2 tickets to the 2014 Bouldering World Cup to be held May 31/June 1 in Hamilton!
