Ontario’s National Series Bouldering Event March 7th, And Qualifying For Open Bouldering Nationals

All Open athletes planning to attend the CEC National Series Bouldering Event March 7th at Joe Rockheads, and wishing to qualify to attend CEC Open Bouldering Nationals Match 21st at The Bloc Shop should be aware of the following:

  • Competitors need a CEC National athlete membership (purchased through the OCF at my.climbontario.ca) in order to have their score at this event included in the published results, and to be eligible to compete at CEC Open Bouldering Nationals.
  • In accordance to the previously announced policy (see https://archive.climbontario.ca/ocf-201415-policies-for-registering-ontario-competitors-for-national-competitions/), the OCF will select the top 20 Ontario athletes who are Canadian citizens to attend Nationals based on each athlete’s top single performance at any NSBE. Proof of citizenship is required to be included in this roster; you can either bring government ID (such as a passport) to the comp, or show proof to any Board member of the Ontario Climbing Federation (see https://archive.climbontario.ca/contacts/) or CEC official.
  • Foreign nationals can also qualify to compete at Open Nationals by placing in the top 20 at any NSBE. They must either purchase a CEC National athlete membership or show proof of membership in their home country’s IFSC-recognized federation.
