IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR 2021/2022 OCF SENIOR BOULDER PROVINCIALS

It has been almost ONE MILLION minutes since the last OCF Bouldering competition, and we are very happy to report that things are just about ready to go for a really big show this Saturday.

Registration for the event closed on Sunday, October 24 and the final schedule and the running orders are now available at the bottom of this post.

Here is a whole bunch of helpful information!

PARKING:

  • Please abide by the posted parking signs and instructions, or you could be walking home!

QUALIFYING FOR CEC SENIOR BOULDER NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS:

  • The OCF has 20 spots to allocate for Nationals per gender. These will go to the top 20 finishers per gender at Provincials (not including pre-qualified athletes).

GYM WAIVERS: 

COVID POLICIES:

  • Everyone entering the gym must be fully vaccinated. 
  • Proof of vaccination will be verified upon entry. Everyone entering the gym will need to show:
  1. full vaccination receipts (paper or digital; note that QR codes alone will not be accepted) AND
  2. identification that includes their name and birthdate (matching the vaccination receipt).
  • Masks must be worn at all times. 
  • The OCF’s COVID-19 Protocol for the 2021/2022 season can be found here.

SPECTATORS: 

  • Limited spectators will be allowed for both rounds.
  • Entry will be allowed after Iso closes for each round.

COACHES: 

  • All Coaches interested in attending must have pre-registered with the OCF by the registration deadline (Sunday October 24th at 5pm) to confirm their attendance.

COMPETITION FORMAT: 

  • Judged IFSC style comp with strict Isolation Zone rules for both rounds
  • Qualification round for each category will be 5 problems, 5 minutes on / 5 minutes off
  • Finals round will be a World Cup finals format (preview, 4 problems, 4 minutes), with both categories climbing at the same time.
  • Quota to finals is 6 in each category (top 6 from each category after qualification round).

FINAL SCHEDULE: 

Qualification Round

9:45am         – Early check-in for those climbing in the 1st hour

10:00am       – ISO opens for all other competitors

10:55am       – ISO closes (extended closing time due to COVID protocols)

11:00am       – Qualification Round Starts

4:15pm         – Qualification Round Ends (based on final registration)

Final Round

5:30pm         – ISO opens

6:15pm         – ISO closes 

6:30pm         – Intro of Finalists/Preview

6:45pm         – Final Round Starts 

8:30pm         – Final Round Ends (approx.)
